Estate presentation :<\/h2>\n

The estate comprises 40 hectares divided into 24 very specific parcels.<\/span>\u00a0This fragmentation helps to control berry ripeness during the harvest and to bring together several grape varieties.\u00a0(65%<\/span>\u00a0grenache,\u00a020%<\/span>\u00a0mourv\u00e8dre<\/span>,\u00a010%<\/span>\u00a0syrah,\u00a05%<\/span>\u00a0counoise<\/span>,\u00a0vaccaresis<\/span>\u00a0and muscardin for reds)<\/span>\u00a0and several terroirs.<\/span> They produce a yield of 28 hl per hectare.<\/span> Severe sorting is carried out to produce the best quality. This family has lived in Ch\u00e2teauneuf-du-Pape since the 17th century, and the first vintage was produced in 1896. It was signed by the great-grandfather of the current owner, Paul Avril. The latter contributed to the appellation Ch\u00e2teauneuf-du-Pape<\/strong>In 1936, his son R\u00e9gis took over the reins from his father, continuing with the export of Clos des Papes.
