His son, <em>Michel Ferraton<\/em>who succeeded him with passion and dedication.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The vineyard is then managed by<em> Samuel Ferraton<\/em>the fourth generation of the family, and the estate is now close to<em> Michel Chapoutier<\/em> in 1998. With his expert help and advice, the <strong>Ferraton estate<\/strong> will focus on <strong>biodynamics<\/strong> Respect for the vine, for living things in all their forms. This means an end to the use of harmful chemical products, fertilizers and pesticides. The result? A respected grape, free of exogenous molecules, natural and qualitative. It's the gift of a soil respected by its owner. It's today <em>Monsieur Chapoutier <\/em>who took over the estate in 2004.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><u><strong>Robert Parker's opinion<\/strong><\/u> : <em>The quality and number of vintages from this estate continue to soar. However, the domaine is also a wine merchant. It buys grapes from a wide range of appellations: Ch\u00e2teauneuf-du-Pape, Condrieu, C\u00f4te-R\u00f4tie, Cornas and more. Today, we present some of our finest cuv\u00e9es;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Cornas \"Les Eygats<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.comptoirdesmillesimes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Cornas-Les-Eygats-Domaine-Ferraton.png\" alt=\"Cornas Les Eygats Domaine Ferraton\" width=\"190\" height=\"60\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A 100% Syrah cuv\u00e9e from a 300-meter-high vineyard. A ruby\/purple color, a nose of great purity and depth. Notes of ripe raspberry and blackcurrant. Very mineral on the palate, with great depth, ripe fruit and spiciness. Very long on the palate.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">C\u00f4te-R\u00f4tie \"L'\u00e9glantine<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.comptoirdesmillesimes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/C\u00f4te-r\u00f4tie-rouge-l\u00e9glantine-domaine-ferraton.png\" alt=\"C\u00f4te r\u00f4tie rouge l&#039;\u00e9glantine domaine ferraton\" width=\"190\" height=\"60\" \/><\/p>\n<p>From 100% Syrah. A cuv\u00e9e with a superb deep ruby color. Red fruit, spices, violets and black olives. Astonishing length on the palate, the very elegance of a C\u00f4te-R\u00f4tie, with truffle and leather notes that harmonize perfectly with its woodiness.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Croze-Hermitage \"Calendes<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.comptoirdesmillesimes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/crozes-hermitage-calendes-ferraton-e1496394200625-300x87.png\" alt=\"crozes hermitage calendes ferraton\" width=\"194\" height=\"57\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A new cuv\u00e9e from the estate, which arrived in 2014. According to Robert Parker, the 2014 is classic Crozes-Hermitage, peppery, medium-bodied, with lots of fruit. Good finish and well-integrated acidity. Keeps for around 5 years.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Ermitage \"Le Meal<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.comptoirdesmillesimes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Ermitage-Le-Meal-domaine-ferraton-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"190\" height=\"60\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A plot-based cuv\u00e9e from the estate. A highly prestigious 100% Syrah from 30-year-old vines. You'll notice the intensity of its brilliant ruby color. This cuv\u00e9e offers notes of black fruit and leather. This is a wine for laying down, with power and concentration. It's structured and long on the palate.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Hermitage \"Les Dionni\u00e8res<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.comptoirdesmillesimes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Ermitage-rouge-les-dionnieres-domaine-ferraton.png\" alt=\"Ermitage rouge les dionnieres domaine ferraton\" width=\"190\" height=\"60\" \/><\/p>\n<p>From 100% Syrah vines around 30 years old. Unctuous aromas and flavors of ripe black cherry, cassis, raspberry, crushed rock and graphite. A huge mid-palate according to Robert Parker. Well-integrated acidity and soft tannins.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Hermitage \"Les Miaux\" red<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.comptoirdesmillesimes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/hermitage-les-miaux-rouge.png\" alt=\"hermitage les miaux red\" width=\"190\" height=\"60\" \/><\/p>\n<p>100% Syrah, a very solid cuv\u00e9e, with notes of berries, olives and tar, currants and hazelnuts. Towards the finish, notes of tobacco and alder emerge. A peppery echo.  Will keep for a decade or more, depending on the vintage.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Hermitage \"Les Miaux\" white<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.comptoirdesmillesimes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Hermitage-blanc-les-miaux-domaine-ferraton.png\" alt=\"Hermitage blanc les miaux domaine ferraton\" width=\"190\" height=\"60\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A white wine cuv\u00e9e 100% Marsanne. Soaring quality for this superb cuv\u00e9 de blanc. It offers classic notes of buttery citrus, lovely fruitiness, toasted hazelnuts and a kiss of crushed rches. A great mid-palate.
