What are we to make of the 2015 vintage in the French vineyards?<\/h2>\n

Quite simply, 2015: an exceptional vintage<\/strong><\/a>. Take it in the first sense of the word, with its astonishing ageing potential and atypical character, but you have to bear in mind the differences from one region to another. First of all, it was the warmest, sunniest year in a long time. Even so, the vineyards were hit by a long period of heatwave and drought, which caused the vines to suffer throughout July 2015. This impact was even more formidable for the vineyards of Eastern France, with its granitic soils, with the highest heat peaks. Today, we present a grand cru classification 2015<\/strong> for major French appellations.<\/p>\n

Incredible vintage for the famous Bordeaux vineyards<\/a><\/strong><\/span>. Every appellation region was able to benefit. The heavy rains of winter 2014-2015 created sufficient reserves to enable the vineyards to withstand the scorching summer. Nature was able to defend itself. And in the end, it produced superb grape varieties, rich in natural sugar. All the grape varieties were able to reach a very high natural sugar content. Superb white wines, full of sparkle, silky reds, greedy and crisp with superb fruitiness. This is the ranking of the greatest 2015 Bordeaux wines<\/strong> :<\/p>\n

A rather early 2015 vintage. However, the summer was exceptionally fine! An exceptional vintage despite some hasty harvests. We should also point out that no hail disturbed the vineyards, with the exception of a few plots limited to Chablis. For the rest, it was magnificent, with near-perfect conditions giving rise to superb grapes at perfect ripeness. On the other hand, yields for this vintage were well below target.<\/p>\n

An acidity that resisted the heat well, but with low yields.
