During the 20th century, this estate ranked among the best in the region. Today, the estate covers 15 hectares, 13.5 of which are planted with Pinot Noir and 1.5 with Chardonnay. It also includes prestigious appellations such as Grands Crus de Chambertin, Chapelle-Chambertin and Gevrey-Chambertin. The estate converted to biodynamic viticulture in 1995, adding to the change the estate underwent when Jean-Louis married Andrée née Grayer, heiress to the estate in Riquewihr, Alsace. The couple work together to contribute to the evolution of the domaine. The domaine's wines are among the region's most emblematic, especially the Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Clos Prieur. Jean-Louis Trapet is a diligent producer who takes great care of his estate. Despite the loss of some of his vines, he still owns a fine estate with three grands crus and two premiers crus. He has enjoyed success with all these cuvées, worthy of the Burgundy domain. Later, Jean Louis was assisted by his children, who came to help him at the Alsatian estate. Recent vintages have been a great success.

Discover all our guides to the most beautiful vineyards and partner wineries:

> All Guides from our partner estates

Interview with Andrée and Jean-Louis Trapet

Comptoir des Millesimes More than 2000 Bottles and 80 Vintages - 100% in stock - Shipping within 24h - Fixed delivery charge of 7 € - Gift Service

Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru 2020 - Domaine Trapet - € 485.00
on 3 July 2026 at 2 h 48 min
Direct from the estate

Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru 2006 - Domaine Trapet - € 255.00
on 3 July 2026 at 2 h 48 min
Jean & Jean-Louis TRAPET

Chambertin Grand Cru 2002 - Domaine Trapet - €470.00
on 3 July 2026 at 2 h 48 min
Jean & Jean-Louis TRAPET

Domaine Jean et Jean-Louis Trapet was founded in 1919 in Gevrey-Chambertin.
