It promises a quality wine label. An exceptional terroir and top-flight whites. <\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">Like its companion Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, it is located in the C\u00f4te d'Or department. Only vines from the commune of Meursault can bear the name. The majority of Meursault's wines are white, but a few growers have Pinots Noirs, which are used to produce red wines. Of the 390 hectares of vines, only 10 hectares are planted with Pinots Noirs. <\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">We call this appellation Charmeuse because Meursault wines are dry, fat, creamy whites with buttery notes. Ideal with fine dishes such as Ris de veau, soles or white fowl.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><b>A GREAT TERROIR WITHOUT A GREAT VINTAGE!<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\">The Meursault appellation is a rather special one. <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\">It has the reputation of being one of the world's great appellations, with some of the world's finest winemakers owning vines in Meursault, yet none of its climates are classified as Grand Cru. The appellation, which was instituted in 1937, rises to an altitude of 260 meters. Jurassic soil is sometimes mixed with magnesian limestone, but the finest climats are found on limestone marl. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\">But then why, with all these skills, don't Meursault wines offer any great vintages? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\">At first sight, this would seem to be the result of a disagreement between the various winegrowers' unions present in the commune, who were unable to agree on the delimitation of the climats. Today, however, it is recognized that certain climats, such as \"Perri\u00e8re du dessous\", \"Charmes dessus\" and \"les genevri\u00e8res\", deserve such recognition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"western\">\n<h3><span style=\"color: #212529;\"><span style=\"font-family: Segoe UI, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Fabien Coche Estate<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\">Created in 1940 under the name Coche-Bizouard, the estate cultivates the nobility of the Burgundy terroir. Located in Meursault, the Fabien Coche estate comprises 12 hectares of vines spread over 7 C\u00f4te de Beaune appellations. Fabien Coche has kept to traditional methods, from working the vines to bottling and ageing his wines. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\">His main aim is to transcribe what the terroir has passed on to him, all within a sustainable agriculture approach. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.comptoirdesmillesimes.com\/meursault\/meursault-1er-cru-les-charmes-2018-fabien-coche.html\"><span style=\"color: #cc9900;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><b>Meursault 1er Cru les Charmes 2018 - Fabien Coche<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\">Situated on one of the prestigious climates classified as a premier cru, Meursault les Charmes is a full-bodied, opulent white wine with a rich mouthfeel. Its first nose develops aromas of acacia flowers and white fruits. The first belongs to the parents (Bernard and his wife), while the children Pierre and Anne own their own vineyards. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\">The estate often carries out long ageing, which results in very long, complex finishes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.comptoirdesmillesimes.com\/meursault\/meursault-2018-sous-la-velle-anne-boisson.html\"><span style=\"color: #cc9900;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><b>Meursault Sous la Velle - Anne Boisson<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Cuv\u00e9e Sous la Velle is a well-balanced wine. White fruit, fresh fruit and citrus notes add a slight tension to the wine. To achieve this, the domaine practices healthy viticulture, uses environmentally-friendly phytosanitary products and strives for perpetual biological balance. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.comptoirdesmillesimes.com\/francois-mikulski\/meursault-limozin-2017-francois-mikulski.html\"><span style=\"color: #cc9900;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><b>Meursault Limozin 2017 - Fran\u00e7ois Mikulski<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The Limozin parcel is very small, covering 0.15 hectares, with an average vine age of 65 years. Annual production of this cuv\u00e9e is around 6,000 bottles. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The wine should be enjoyed between 5 and 10 years of age.
