Today, we're going to introduce you to one of our partner estates:<\/span> Domain <\/strong>Vernay<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span>
\nThis is a popular Rhone Valley estate that is best known for its\u00a0C\u00f4te-R\u00f4tie<\/span>\u00a0and Condrieu wines.<\/span>\u00a0Christine\u00a0Vernay,<\/span> who succeeded his father and grandfather, has been running the estate for over 20 years now.<\/span>\u00a0 The vineyard works with great ambition and investment.<\/span>\u00a0It is now certified organic.<\/span><\/p>\n

History of Domaine Vernay<\/h2>\n

Founded in 1940, this estate is a family tradition, and today Christine\u00a0Vernay<\/span> is the 3rd generation to run this business.<\/span>\u00a0In 1937, Francis founded the estate at\u00a0Condrieu<\/span>\u00a0and planted his first vines at Coteau de Vernon.<\/span>\u00a0Its first cuv\u00e9e was launched in 1940 and met with great success.<\/span>\u00a0Georges then took over from his father.<\/span> Thanks to his motivation and hard work, he saved the Condrieu appellation.<\/span> He became the role model for an entire generation who would go on to make this terroir one of the most recognized in the world.<\/span> In 1992, he also created the Chaill\u00e9es<\/span> de l'Enfer, the second vintage of Condrieu<\/span>\u00a0of the estate.<\/span> Christine took over from her father in 1996 and created Les Terrasses de l'Empire in 1998.<\/span> Then she relaunches the Maison Rouge<\/span>\u00a0which she vinified in 1997 and which is one of C\u00f4te-R\u00f4tie's most famous cuv\u00e9es.<\/span>\u00a0In the same year, she also created the Blonde du Seigneur.<\/span> These two wines are now internationally recognized as some of the greatest wines of France. Condrieu<\/span> for which the estate is renowned.<\/span><\/p>\n

The estate today :<\/h2>\n

Today, the estate covers 24 hectares of AOC Condrieu appellations, C\u00f4te-R\u00f4tie<\/span> and St Joseph.<\/span> <\/span>\u00a0This estate has obtained organic viticulture certification thanks to its meticulous vinification, regular planting and careful selection of grapes. massale<\/span>\u00a0plants.<\/span> Thanks to Christine's hard work and perseverance Vernay<\/span>the domaine was hoisted to the top of the podium.<\/span>\u00a0It is now recognized as one of the world's best\u00a0winemakers<\/span>Some of its wines have even been awarded the top rating of 100\/100.<\/span> The best living conditions on the estate allow grape varieties to thrive.\u00a0Viognier<\/span>\u00a0and Syrah.<\/span> Vines are planted on steeply sloping terraces.<\/span> During the day, the stones store the sun's heat and release it at night.<\/span>\u00a0The vineyards benefit from a warm, sunny climate, thanks to both north and south winds.<\/span> The vines also benefit from very good soil quality, such as \"Coteau de\u00a0Vernon \"<\/span> which is composed of gore (Arena), a decomposing granite, and the Chaill\u00e9es<\/span>\u00a0of Hell.<\/span>\u00a0The vineyards of\u00a0Maison Rouge<\/span> are planted on granite soils to give them a more refined aspect.<\/span>\u00a0After a decade of managing the estate\u00a0alone,<\/span>\u00a0Christine now works with her younger brother Luc.\u00a0Vernay.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
