It has an infinite delicacy, the bouquet expressing buttery tones, baked apple, citrus, pineapple, lime blossom, fern, juniper, cinnamon and flint. Honeyed notes are also common. But some plots are planted with Chardonnay or Pinot Blanc. The color is usually a full, assertive ruby, carmine, intense garnet with purplish highlights. The bouquet features notes of black fruits such as blackcurrant and blueberry, and red stone fruits such as cherry. He previously owned parcels of Clos des Mots-Luisants and Clos de la Roche, and also cultivates other appellations such as Gebrey-Chambertin, Les Combottes and Charmes Chambertins.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Visit <strong>1920<\/strong>At the end of the 19th century, his nephew and fileul Hippolyte Ponsot, after a career in diplomacy, took over the reins of the estate. With the help of his brother, Henri Ponsot, who was also a diplomat (resident general in Morocco, French ambassador in several countries), Hippolyte enlarged Les Clos de la Roche by acquiring three-quarters of the original \"Clos de la Roche\" site.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"col-md-9\"><strong>1932<\/strong> He had obtained the privilege of bottling his entire harvest. In 1957, Hippolyte stopped working in the field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>1960<\/strong>He builds on his father's know-how to become an expert in clonal selection in Burgundy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>1981<\/strong>Laurent Ponsot joins his father Jean-Marie on the family estate, which he manages with his sister Rose-Marie Ponsot. He renews a commercial system that varies the sale of bottled production in 44 countries. Farming and winemaking are always carried out with respect. In 1989, the estate became a recognized brand.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>1997<\/strong> :The domaine is run by Laurent Ponsot and his sister Rose-Marie. Laurent has run the operational side of the business for almost 20 years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>2017<\/strong> Laurent Ponsot retires from the domaine to devote himself to his personal projects.
