Le Clos des F\u00e9es<\/strong> is starting to make a name for itself in the Roussillon region, and is still produced in the garage of the owners' home in Vingrau. The small village of Vingrau is located in the Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es-Orientales department of the Languedoc-Roussillon-Midi-Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es region. It's an imposing limestone cirque in the middle of the very mountainous Roussillon vineyards.<\/p>\n DISCOVER OUR CLOS DES F\u00c9ES WINES<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The owner Herv\u00e9 Bizeul<\/strong> has run the estate with his wife Claudine since the very beginning. Herv\u00e9 Bizeul has been a sommelier, restaurateur and journalist. A triple role that later led him to the winemaking profession. He's also passionate about wine and gastronomy. From now on Clos des F\u00e9e wines<\/strong>s<\/strong> are exported all over the world and continue to be a great success. This passionate couple continue to produce top-quality Clos des F\u00e9es wines, each with its own atypical personality.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Clos des F\u00e9es vineyard covers 30 ha of vines, producing over 91 % of red wine. The vineyard has an average age of 50 years, and all the vines are planted on clay-limestone and granite soils. The grape varieties include Grenache red, Grenache gris and white, Carignan, Syrah, Mourv\u00e8dre and, last but not least, Tempranillo.<\/p>\n The wine is produced under the appellation C\u00f4tes du Roussillon, C\u00f4tes du Roussillon Villages and Vin de Pays des C\u00f4tes Catalanes<\/strong>. If you'd like to discover the different cuv\u00e9es, please note that they range from the simplest to the most refined wines. This estate, with its prestigious wines, has become a true benchmark in the Roussillon region.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Little Siberia at Clos des F\u00e9es<\/strong> This unique parcel of old vines covers just over 2 hectares. The Grenache Noir grapes are grown on clay-limestone soils that are exposed to extreme climatic conditions (icy north-westerly winds). The producers aim for optimum phenolic ripeness, while retaining freshness and fruitiness. To sum up this impressive wine, we can only say that it has an endearing personality, which may vary according to place and occasion, but which manages to adapt of its own accord. You'll notice that it will evolve in your glass for several hours, and that it will have legendary length, with very tight tannins and a remarkable velvety texture. Mature after 10 years, and cellar for up to 30 years.<\/p>\n Cuv\u00e9e Le Clos des F\u00e9es<\/strong> Small plots of old vines spread out on clay-limestone hillsides. A perfect fusion of Syrah, Mourv\u00e8dre, Grenache and Carignan. This is a wine of great power, concentration and richness, with a creamy texture. Very enjoyable to drink the year after bottling, after decanting of course. It may close up in the second year. It then develops while retaining its fruit. This superb wine can be kept for 8 to 15 years.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Clos des F\u00e9es Vieilles Vignes<\/strong> The oldest vines on the estate, aged between 50 and 100 years, are found in this parcel. A blend of 50 % Grenache and Ladoner Pelut, 35% Carignan and 15% Syrah on clay-limestone soils. This is a rather concentrated wine, but not overly so, and truly aromatic. The tannins are soft and fine, allowing the wine to be appreciated immediately. It will not show its full potential until 3 full years after bottling.
