A visionary with a passion for wine, he expanded his vineyards and took control of the entire Champagne production process. The Roederer taste and style were born. The Roederer crystal bottle was born in the 1870s. Louis Roederer loved to travel, and went as far as Russia, where his champagne was served at the table of Tsar Alexander II. The latter was so fond of the Champagne House's prestige cuvée that he asked to reserve Louis Roederer's finest production every year. It was this request that gave birth to the name "Cristal".
Several generations followed, and today the 7th generation, represented by Frédéric Rouzaud, runs the company with the same high standards of quality.

TOP HISTORICAL MILLENNIUM: Maison Roeder

Many vintages are fantastic at Maison Roederer, as they have 100% control over the production of their grapes as well as the elaboration in the cellars.
