Côte Rôtie 2018 La Viallière - Jean-Michel Gerin

 

 

This cuvée is the fruit of a lot of work over almost 10 years, clearing the land, building the paths and walls, planting (in 2003 and 2004). Then some time later the first vintage (2009) of this so particular terroir.

 

SURFACE AREA: 1.75 hectares in the area known as "la VIALLIERE".

 

SOIL NATURE: Micaschist

 

GROWING: 100 % Syrah

 

SITUATION : Vineyard on slopes, south-south-east exposure

 

YIELD: 40 Hl/Ha

 

AGE OF VINES: 9 years

 

VINIFICATION: 100% destemming. Maceration for 4 weeks.

 

AGEING: 100% new half-muids (500 litre barrels) for 18 months. Malo made in barrels

 

TASTING : A beautiful mouth of red fruits, a little spicy. The balance and length in the mouth reveal the finesse of the Syrah.

All the bottles offered on the site are in stock and available immediately. Cylinders are sold individually with no minimum order. Delivery costs are fixed: whatever the number of bottles you order.
