What is Bollinger PN VZ15?

Pinot Noir is one of the pillars of the Bollinger style and the House has built its reputation on magnifying this grape variety. La cuvée Bollinger PNThis first edition, to be released in 2020, is the result of research into the taste of Pinot Noir and its different origins in Champagne. It contributes to extending this heritage and affirming Bollinger's legendary style - while reinventing itself each year.

This VZ15 edition is the first interpretation. It will be followed by new ones that will continue to explore the House's different terroirs.

PN, made entirely from Pinot Noir to highlight the essence and DNA of the House style, is the first new cuvée added to Bollinger's permanent range since the rosé in 2008. Each PN release, developed as a series to highlight Bollinger's unique vision of Pinot Noir, will feature a different vintage from the base year to showcase its distinctive terroir and taste. The first release in the series, PN VZ15, explores the interpretation of the 2015 Verzenay Pinot Noir and features reserve wines dating back to 2009.

Making the cuvée

• Blend for the VZ15 edition: 100 % Pinot Noir (Blanc de Noirs).
• Principal growth : Verzenay, associated with other villages (Aÿ, Bouzy and Tauxières).
• Base year: 2015.
• Exclusive use of the cuvée.
• Maturation: more than twice as long as the Appellation rules.
• Dosage: moderate, 7 grams per liter.
