1-Prestigiously framed

Originally christened Pétrus-Lafleur to justify the name of its two prestigious neighbouring estates, the vineyard that produces "La Fleur-Pétrus" wines belonged to the Constant familyalso owner of the Château Clinet. Since 1953, the Jean-Pierre Moueix own and operate this jewel of Pomerol covering 14.5 hectares.
This beautiful estate also boasts a number of illustrious châteaux in its vicinity, including Gazin and Lafleur-Gazin.

2-At the heart of the Pomerol plateau

Majestically situated in the heart of the Plateau de Pomerol and rub shoulders with the cream of the region's estates, La Fleur-Pétrus has a fabulously gravelly terroir with clay-rich soil: an asset that gives the wine remarkable finesse and elegance. The vineyard is planted with 20% of Cabernet Franc and 80% of Merlot. This makes for superb, very tannic wines with an ageing potential of up to 30 years.

3-History

Despite its acquisition in 1953, and the exploitation of the undeniable qualities of its magnificent terroir, it was not until 1994 that Domaine La Fleur-Pétrus experienced its remarkable growth. Indeed, it was only after the addition of 4 hectares of vines (to what already constituted the estate), that the latter experienced the great success of its wines. Note that the parcels purchased belonged to Château Le Gay. Very rich in old Cabernet Franc, the new acquisition, coupled with the know-how of Jean-Claude Berrouet (an exceptional oenologist), will enable us to raise La Fleur-Pétrus to a prodigiously high level of quality. Since 2007, Eric Murisasco supervises technical management with the assistance of Jean-Claude Berrouet (as consultant).

Today, La Fleur-Pétrus has a property in keeping with the excellence of the wine it produces.
