Ranking of the best vintages of Château Angélus
Château Angélus 2005
Maturity: Young
PR ranking: 100/100
Wine Spectator rating: 96/100
The opaque color of this wine is sensational. A blue/purple color that offers notes of vanilla, spring flowers, blueberry and blackberry liqueur, as well as a touch of licorice. The wine hits the palate with a flash of blackberry, rich, fruity and concentrated. It is full-bodied, multidimensional and layered. The tannins are beautifully integrated, but still present, as are the wood, acidity, alcohol, etc., all of which are beautifully assimilated in this magnificent, majestic vintage ofAngelus. It can be drunk now, but it's still in its teens, and we recommend that you enjoy it between 25-35 years of age.

A candidate for perfection with a few years of bottle ageing, this great Angelus vintage has a crimson, almost impenetrably black color / and a nose with notes of incense, graphite, blackberry liqueur, truffles and spring flowers. The wine is full-bodied, voluptuously textured, beautifully concentrated and with fruit of unquestionable purity. There's a superb finish of nearly a minute, and wonderfully smooth, velvety tannins that give a Angelus prodigious. Enjoy it for the next 25-50 years.

Château Angélus 2010
Maturity: Young
RP rating: 99+/100
Wine Spectator rating: 97/100
Here's another magnificent wine that flirts with perfection, depending on the state of its evolution. The 2010 vintage has a similar color to the 2009, but is even more opaque, which might seem almost impossible. A light taste of smoke, blackberry liqueur, licorice and chocolate that fills the palate. Smooth, velvety, full-bodied black fruit, concentrated, well-defined tannins and good acidity. The wine has a majestic finish that continues for a minute. This magnificent wine is still very young, but just as prodigious as its elder brother, the 2009. It will probably evolve more slowly than the latter.

Château Angélus 1990

A blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc. This wine was clearly the greatest AngelusThe 2000, 2003 and then the perfect fruit of the 2005. Sweet, ripe plum and blueberry fruit soar from the glass of this sumptuous wine. An opaque purple color that has not yet lost much color. Deep, opulent, voluptuously textured, full-bodied and multidimensional, this is an astonishing product that needs at least 20 years of ageing before it can be enjoyed.

A generous wine. Dense, blue/purple, it offers magnificent notes of espresso roast, blackberry and blueberry liqueur, acacia flowers and a touch of chocolate. Château Angélus 2001

A true revelation of the vintage. Somewhat underestimated and under the radar after the greatness of 2000, theAngelus 2001 is on a faster evolutionary track than the 2000. A sweet, sexy, succulent Angelus style with dense plum/purple color, loads of chocolate, blueberry and blackberry, revealing floral scents and intense. Château Angélus 2015
Maturity: Very young
RP rating: 95-97/100
The Angelus 2015 is a mixture of 62% of Merlot and 38% Cabernet Franc. The batches of Merlot. This year, Merlot gives a lot of harmony to the wine, and has some of the qualities of the Cabernet Franc It gives precision and freshness. It gives generosity and softness. The wine was aged at 100% in new barrels at 11°C to reduce the dose of sulfur. This maintains the freshness of the aromas and preserves the wine's elegance. It offers a complex range of aromas such as black cherry, camphor, oyster shell and Japanese nori, beautifully defined and highly concentrated. The palate is medium-bodied but powerful, with a layer of slender tannins and a sharp thread of acidity. A layer of black fruit laced with spice, baking powder, mint and white pepper. It feels particularly long on the palate, with an insistence that hangs on for a minute. It's a sexy, convincing Angelus.
