Chateau de La Tour Clos Vougeot Francois Labet

Estate presentation

Château de La Tour - AOC Clos de Vougeot

In the heart of the famous Côte de Nuit, the Château de La Tour, owned by François Labet, is the only Château in the Clos de Vougeot area.

Bottling began in the 1930s. François Labet has worked hard to develop this estate and has managed the production of some very fine wines in this appellation area. The owner travels to the 4 corners of the world to promote his great Burgundy wines. He has been working alongside Sylvain Pataille since 2009, with the aim of sharing his winemaking expertise with a leading oenologist in order to achieve the highest level of quality in his wines. The wine is a marvel, with great quality resulting from vinification of whole grapes and aging in partially new barrels.Domaine Francois Labet chateau de la tour

Domaine Pierre Labet - AOC Beaune

Domaine Pierre Labet has been present in Beaune since the 15th century. François Labet also runs the family domaine "Domaine Pierre Labet". He owns an array of "Premiers Crus" in the Beaune AOC. With his expertise and passion, he manages the domaine with the utmost seriousness. The wines are made in the famous Château de La Tour du Clos de Vougeot. What can we say? Consistent quality, with a fine production in the estate's atypical style.

"Great wine tasting with

Domaine Pierre Labet Beaune Clos du dessus des Marconnets White

domaine pierre labet clos des marconnets white

"The 2013 Beaune Clos du Dessus des Marconnets Blanc holds an expressive bouquet, with hints of fennel coming through following aeration. The palate is well balanced, fresh and vibrant with hints of orange peel and hazelnut, finishing with great energy and length. This is another fine white from François Labet.

Domaine Pierre Labet Beaune Clos du dessus des Marconnets Red

domaine pierre labet clos des marconnets red

"From the vineyards bordering the freeway, the 2013 Beaune Clos du Dessus des Marconnets has a crisp, floral bouquet with notes of blackcurrant and orange peel. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, quite masculine and structured, with a linear, slightly chewy finish at the moment. I'm sure this wine will gain in harmony with time in bottle."

Domaine Pierre Labet Beaune 1er cru Coucherias

beaune 1er cru coucherias Pierre labet

"The 2013 Beaune 1er Cru Coucherias holds a beautiful bouquet, much more feminine than the Clos du Dessus des Marconnets, with fragrant scents of raspberries and impregnated wild berries, cold stone notes. The palate is medium-bodied with red cherry, ripe and cranberry fruit. It has more depth and body than the Clos du Dessus des Marconnets, with a lively, sappy finish".

Château de La Tour Clos Vougeot cuvée classique

chateau de la tour cuvée classique

"Due to bottling in June or July, the 2013 Clos Vougeot Cuvée Classique, which was taken from the barrel and stands at around 50% of new oak, has a harmonious bouquet of fragrant black cherries and raspberry flavors, just a touch of reduction, but this will develop in the right direction. The palate is fresh on entry, with crisp, chalky tannin. The acidity is well judged with a smooth build in the mouth, towards a fresh mint finish. Good."

Clos Vougeot Château de La Tour Vieilles Vignes

chateau de la tour vieilles vignes

"A "must" in Clos Vougeot, the "Vieilles Vignes" cuvée is made for laying down. Like all great wines, there's a risk of disappointment if you taste it too young! Wait for the tannins to mellow, then drink it as an aperitif.blind. On tasting, it shows a rather austere, off-putting nose, with a hint of damp tobacco infusing the slightly stained red fruit. The palate is moderately full-bodied and much more vigorous: crisp tannins, quite to the pull, some well-judged oak, vanilla notes carefully blended with red and black fruit. Gains intensity on the finish, moving towards spicy notes.. The palate is much more interesting than the nose, even if the age of the bottle must answer. Perversely, I prefer regular bottling to Vieilles Vignes, but one assumes this wine will develop beautifully with bottle age. Right?"

Drink from 2018 to 2035. Neal Martin (November 30, 2015)
