Duclaux Cote Rotie Maison Rouge

94/100 Robert Parker

"The 2010 Côte-Rôtie Maison Rouge cuvée presents itself with many aromas of bacon fat, black raspberries, licorice, smoked game and typical Christmas fruitcake. There's a distinctive herbal character on the palate. This is a medium- to full-bodied wine with great purity, complexity and exceptional suppleness. This bottle is still young, but can be enjoyed in 5 or 7 years. The Duclaux brothers continue to produce fabulously elegant Côte-Rôtie wines. They are generally tasty and seductive, very easy to drink young, but also capable of lasting a decade or more depending on the vintage."

By Robert Parker on December 27, 2012.

It is aged in new barrels at 40%. This beautiful Duclaux offers a super basket of dark berries, very warm spices, dried flower and undergrowth notes that accompany a medium to full-bodied style wonderfully.
