He produces legendary wines, among the best in the appellation. Côte-Rôtie with 3 cuvées -Ampodium, Côte Blonde, La Landonne and also the Condrieu " La Bonnette" . You'll find a very good cuvée in terms of quality-price that he produces in the Languedoc: Puech Noble. Wines from this estate are very rare, due to low yields and strong international demand. We are fortunate to work with this estate, and can therefore offer you several vintages in different cuvées from this elite domaine.

Côte Rôtie terroir

The famous terroir of Côte-Rôtie is the most northerly of the great Rhône appellations.

The entire vineyard covers almost 250 hectares, spread over 6 kilometers of steep, south-facing slopes on the right bank of the Rhône.

Mainly based on micaschist, it is enriched with silica, clay, limestone or ferric oxides depending on the locality, offering an astonishing variety of terroirs.

Côte-Rôtie "La Landonne" R. Rostaing

The René Rostaing estate currently produces 3 cuvées on Côte Rôtie. They have all been vinified and aged in the same way, so as to demonstrate their different personalities solely through their own terroir.

For the terroir in Côte-Rôtie "La Landonne" by R. RostaingThe soil is complex, powerful and composed of schistose arena with iron oxide. This Côte-Rôtie grand cru is highly appreciated, and is one of the appellation's elite. It generally displays flavors of wild berries and licorice, with very pronounced tannins and great depth. To top it all off, it manages to fuse freshness with elegance, not to mention perfect structure.

Côte-Rôtie " Côte-Blonde " R. Rostaing

A legendary cuvée in the appellation. It is produced with the utmost skill by the winemaker. Exotic flavors of blond tobacco, cinnamon and violets are found on a finish of great depth and refined tannins.
Suave, long on the palate, the final touch to the work of the terroir.

Here, the soil is poor, mineral (mica, silica) and filtering, constituting the famous "arzel" resulting from the slow decomposition of the schistose parent rock.

95 % Syrah - 5 % Viognier.

Côte-Rôtie "Ampodium" R. Rostaing

Côte-Rôtie Ampodium is a very fine wine, marked by the elegance of its fruit. Its complex nose is characterized by aromas of stewed red fruit (strawberry, raspberry), flowers (violet) and spicy, peppery notes. Very well-balanced, with remarkable tannic finesse. This is a more classic cuvée from the domaine.

With its finesse, structure and freshness typical of the appellation, it is the perfect introduction to the two great Landonne and Côte Blonde cuvées.

Condrieu "La Bonnette" R. Rostaing

This cuvée comes exclusively from the "La Bonnette" terroir in the Condrieu AOC area. It produces a rich, powerful wine with scents of lychee, passion fruit and white flowers. It is also characterized by a beautiful minerality and great precision of fruit, which regularly distinguish it from its peers. 100 % Viognier on southwest-facing granite arena soils.

This cuvée is made from :
Syrah for 80% ,
Grenache for 10% ,
Mourvèdre for 10%.
These 3 grape varieties are among the highest quality in the region.
The wine displays local structure and power but with a finesse and depth specific to its terroir.

Only one rating available, R. Rostaing's Puech noble rouge 2009 rated 90/100 by Robert Parker on December 23, 2011.
