We have chosen to use the word investment, not to advise you to buy this or that bottle in order to make a capital gain in a few years' time, but rather to invest in certain estates or appellations that will be more difficult to access financially in a few years' time.
A CHARMING APPELLATION
The appellation Meursault is an appellation to dream about. It promises a quality wine label. An exceptional terroir and top-flight whites. Like its companion Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, it is located in the Côte d'Or department. Only vines from the commune of Meursault can bear the name. The majority of Meursault's wines are white, but a few growers have Pinots Noirs, which are used to produce red wines. Of the 390 hectares of vines, only 10 hectares are planted with Pinots Noirs. We call this appellation Charmeuse because Meursault wines are dry, fat, creamy whites with buttery notes. Ideal with fine dishes such as Ris de veau, soles or white fowl.
A GREAT TERROIR WITHOUT A GREAT VINTAGE!
The Meursault appellation is a rather special one. It has the reputation of being one of the world's great appellations, with some of the world's finest winemakers owning vines in Meursault, yet none of its climates are classified as Grand Cru. The appellation, which was instituted in 1937, rises to an altitude of 260 meters. Jurassic soil is sometimes mixed with magnesian limestone, but the finest climats are found on limestone marl.
But then why, with all these skills, don't Meursault wines offer any great vintages?
At first sight, this would seem to be the result of a disagreement between the various winegrowers' unions present in the commune, who were unable to agree on the delimitation of the climats. Today, however, it is recognized that certain climats, such as "Perrière du dessous", "Charmes dessus" and "les genevrières", deserve such recognition.

Fabien Coche Estate
Created in 1940 under the name Coche-Bizouard, the estate cultivates the nobility of the Burgundy terroir. Located in Meursault, the Fabien Coche estate comprises 12 hectares of vines spread over 7 Côte de Beaune appellations. Fabien Coche has kept to traditional methods, from working the vines to bottling and ageing his wines.
His main aim is to transcribe what the terroir has passed on to him, all within a sustainable agriculture approach.
Meursault 1er Cru les Charmes 2018 - Fabien Coche
Situated on one of the prestigious climates classified as a premier cru, Meursault les Charmes is a full-bodied, opulent white wine with a rich mouthfeel. Its first nose develops aromas of acacia flowers and white fruits. We advise you to wait a few more years before opening this magnificent bottle, as after ten or so years it will have developed notes of white truffles and ripe fruit.

Domaine Anne Boisson
Domaine Anne Boisson is still a little-known domain, but it's a hidden gem, and all the better for it!
Ultimately, this is the Boisson-Vadot family estate, separated into three entities. The first belongs to the parents (Bernard and his wife), while the children Pierre and Anne own their own vineyards.
The estate often carries out long ageing, which results in very long, complex finishes.
Meursault Sous la Velle - Anne Boisson
Cuvée Sous la Velle is a well-balanced wine. White fruit, fresh fruit and citrus notes add a slight tension to the wine. A very well-balanced wine.
After a few years of ageing, the aromas of evolution will come to the fore - classic for great Burgundy whites.
The cuvée's extensive ageing brings a round, fat finish ideal for rich dishes such as poularde.

François Mikulski Estate
This third estate is already very well known in the vineyard, but is gaining in recognition and will undoubtedly become one of the top estates in the years to come.
The domaine's primary objective is to develop the main qualities of Burgundy: quality, purity and authenticity. To achieve this, the domaine practices healthy viticulture, uses environmentally-friendly phytosanitary products and strives for perpetual biological balance.
Meursault Limozin 2017 - François Mikulski
The Limozin parcel is very small, covering 0.15 hectares, with an average vine age of 65 years. Annual production of this cuvée is around 6,000 bottles.
The wine should be enjoyed between 5 and 10 years of age. At maturity, its palate is explosive, with aromas of exotic fruits, honey and butter.
As you can see, the minerality is present, but it's the complexity of the fruit that takes precedence.
Perfect with scallops or creamed chicken.
