Nuits-Saint-Georges wines

Produced in two communes of Nuits-Saint-Georges and Prémeaux, the appellation covers 307 hectares, the vast majority of which are devoted to red wines (97% of production is red wine). How to enjoy a Nuits-Saint-Georges wine?
Visit Nuits-Saint-Georges wines are made from Pinot Noir. This grape variety produces rich, red-fruit wines, and, depending on climate and ageing, very mineral wines, some with good tannin. For Nuits-Saint-Georges communaux, it's best to wait at least 5 to 8 years before tasting. If you open it before then, don't hesitate to decant it to oxygenate it. However, you'll be tasting it on the fruit, whereas wines of this quality could give you much more aromatic complexity if drunk at maturity. For the Nuits-Saint-Georges premier cruIn this case, it's imperative to wait 10 years, or even 15 years for great vintages, before opening your bottle. On quality climates, the wines are powerful, tannic and austere, requiring time before revealing all their qualities.
In any case, once your wine has been opened, serve it at a temperature of 15°-16°, so that the aromas open up smoothly and without thermal shock.

Well-known for his négociant wines, Dominique Laurent embarked on a new adventure in 2006 with his son Jean. A large proportion of the grapes come from a property rented from a small winegrower, which he vinifies without sulfur. Barrels are used for this cuvée, bringing toasty, spicy notes to the wine. You can enjoy it now, opening it 1 hour beforehand without decanting, or wait another 2-3 years.
For Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru, more powerful dishes will be required, as even after several years, the wine will release powerful aromas that need to be balanced.
You can pair it with game in hunter's sauce, rare prime rib or duck breast.
