The best wines for desserts
To finish your meal on a sweet note, sweet wines are obviously the best accompaniment to desserts, whether chocolate cake, fruit tart or even a good tiramisu.
For desserts, it's a good idea to choose a wine that goes with the dish.
A lemony, slightly "acidic" tart will go better with a Loupiac, which is less sweet than a Sauternes. It's important to avoid excessive contrasts, and instead to ensure that the wines and desserts complement each other.
The mistake not to make
We must warn you that dry wines or champagnes are not really suitable for accompanying your desserts. They would impose a certain bitterness on the palate. To accompany your logs, chocolates and other cakes, we recommend a mellow wine, a natural sweet wine such as an Rivesaltesa superb ice wineor a sweet Alsatian wine.
Here are the dessert wines recommended by our caviste :
- Rivesaltes Maison Cazes (over 20 vintages available)
- Domaine Zind Humbrecht with beautiful pinot gris
- Domaine Marcel Deiss with its famous Mambourg
- A great Vin De Glace ice wine, a perfect match!
