The Celts believed that on this day, the boundary between the living and the dead became a little more blurred, so people lit bonfires and donned their best costumes to encourage ghosts and spirits to stay in the land of the dead! Today, Halloween has become a fun and fabulously spooky occasion for pumpkin carving, excessive candy consumption and trick-or-treating.
