In Bordeaux, the 1977 vintage is not a great vintage. Difficult climatic conditions with frosts in spring were not beneficial to the harvest. On the whole, the wines are thin and without structure. Nevertheless, some winegrowers stand out and are really successful. The Margaux wines in particular are doing well with Château Giscours, Château Palmer and Château Gruaud Larose.
In Burgundy, 1977 is a good vintage. After complicated climatic conditions, the particularly sunny months of September and October were beneficial to the Burgundy vineyard. Small preference for white wines that perfectly combine elegance and structure. The red wines have a beautiful colour and are pleasantly structured.
In the Vallée du Rhône, 1977 is an average vintage, but it is still a great success with a superb Côte-Rôtie La Mouline Guigal.
