Maison Leroy - The Myth of Burgundy

This estate is one of the largest in Burgundy. It currently produces some of the greatest red Burgundy wines of the Côte d'Or. Lalou Bize-Leroy started as a wine merchant in the Leroy family, founded by her father Henri. The Leroy empire comprises three entities: the Maison Leroy based in Auxey-Duresses; the Domaine d'Auvenay which owes its name to the house of Lalou Bize-Leroy, near St-Romain, and the imposing Domaine Leroy in Vosne-Romanée.

The wines of Domaine Leroy

The grapes are of such high quality that they don't need a winemaker! After a rigorous selection on the sorting tables, which employ as many people as there are harvesters, the grapes are placed, de-stemmed, in wooden fermentation vats. After fermentation, the wines are aged in new barrels made by Cadus and François Frères.
