Domaine Daniel Rion

Domaine Daniel Rion is a family wine estate of Burgundy located in Côte d'Or in Premeaux-Prissey, along the Côte de Nuits. At the beginning this estate had only 2 small hectares of vines in the commune of Vosne Romanée. Inherited from his paternal grandfather, Daniel Rion sold his wine only to Burgundy wine merchants until 78. Domaine Daniel Rion is now managed by Christophe, Olivier and Pascale Rion, their brother Patrice having left them in 2000 to set up on his own account.

Today the Domaine Daniel Rion extends over 18 hectares in 18 different appellations spread over 6 villages in the heart of the Côte and the Haute Côte de Nuits. The estate offers Côte-de-Nuits-Villages Les Vaucrain, Chambolle-Musigny Beaux Bruns, Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges Grandes Vignes, Nuits-Saint-Georges premiers Vignes Rondes, Haut Pruliers, Terres Blanches (in white), Vosne-Romanée premiers crus Beaux-Monts et Chaumes, Échezeaux and Clos-de-Vougeot.

With an annual production of 100,000 bottles, the family of winegrowers honours respect for the environment as well as for the vines in its cultivation practices. Production ethics is also at the heart of the Rion brothers' concerns. After manual harvesting and vinification, the wine is aged between 18 and 24 months on average.
