This is the famous Château de Meursault. Find all the most beautiful references of this prestigious estate on Comptoir des Millésimes. This is one of our partner estates, which means that their wines are shipped directly to our cellar following bottling at their estate. The Château reserves us an allocation of their cases of wine each year. So don't hesitate to create an email alert on Château de Meursault to be kept informed first of the latest arrivals.
The fiefdom of the Moulin de Foulot, which later became the Château de Meursault, was created in the 11th century, during the reign of Robert I. From the 12th to the 16th century, the owners of the fief changed several times due to the struggle between the Duchy of Burgundy and the King of France. From the 17th century onwards, the Blanchetons, the Serre, the Boisseaux and today the Halleys succeeded one another, all with the same ambition to develop the reputation of Château de Meursault and its wines.
The Château de Meursault estate extends over the Côte de Beaune d'Aloxe-Corton in the north to Puligny-Montrachet in the south, passing through the famous village of Meursault. The reds, made from Pinot Noir, represent their own terroir. Especially in the 1st growths of Volnay, Pommard, Beaune, and Savigny lès Beaune and the famous grand cru of Corton.
In Meursault, the Château owns in about ten climats with the prestigious first growths Les Charmes Dessus, Charmes, Perrières and has a monopoly: the Clos des Grands Charrons. The white wines made from the Chardonnay grape are also found on the parcels of Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gain and Champ Canet, Savigny Lès Beaune, Beaune and Corton-Vergennes.
The estate does special format bottling. The format is based on an old specific model, designed in the 18th century. Only the wines of Château de Meursault and Château de Marsannay are bottled in this unique bottle! Find the great wines on the site!
