Summary of the 2000 vintage 

As the first vintage of the new millennium, the year 2000 had a few surprises in store for winegrowers. First of all, the weather was uneven, forcing some winegrowers to sort the grapes more severely than usual, and heavy rainfall diluted the late harvested grapes. But we must also see the glass as half full. The wines on much of the menu are of good quality, with fruity, rich reds and dry whites that are often opulent and straightforward. The prize for the best regions goes to the Bordeaux vineyards, especially on the left bank where the Pessac Léognan and Pauillac accompanied by the Saint-Julien are of very high quality. Then come the wines of the South-West, which have had more or less the same weather as Bordeaux, and where the reds are fantastic, like the Cahors and Madiran.

Then to finish, the wines of the Rhône Valley, but this time from the North, where the white and red wines are really perfect and can be kept for a long time.
