Peter Sisseck is one of the most famous winemakers in Spain. He is, however, of Danish origin. Trained oenologist, he studied in Bordeaux and then in California, before beginning his career in 1990 at the Hacienda Monasterio in the Ribera del Duero. It was there that he was able to gauge the full potential of Tinto Fino. In 1995, he made his first wine in a garage in Quintanilla de Onésimo. The Pingus myth was born. Pingus was his nickname in Denmark. It is the one he chose for the estate and for his prestigious cuvée. This was followed by a second wine, Flor de Pingus.
