The South West of France is an important wine-growing region, consisting of several blocks of vineyards and vines between Aurillac and Rodez in the north-east and to the Spanish border south of Hendaye. The region more or less covers Aquitaine (excluding the Gironde) and Midi-Pyrénées. Main appellations: Bergerac, Monbazillac, Buzet, Cahors, Gaillac, Madiran, Pacherenc-du-Vic-Bilh, Côtes-de-Gascogne, Jurançon.
