"Notes of iris, violet, spice, pepper, and wild black berries, mingled with hints of licorice and pencil lead, characterize the 2022 Cahors Marguerite. This full-bodied, dense, and profound wine displays a structured and complex texture, a heart of fleshy fruit supported by silky tannins, and a precise, pure palate that extends into a long, crystalline finish with chalky notes. This wine embodies all the power of its exceptional terroir, expertly crafted by Catherine Maisonneuve and Mathieu Cosse." Yohan Castaing
Domaine Cosse Maisonneuve was founded in 1999 by Matthieu Cosse and Catherine Maisonneuve. Spanning 26 hectares, the estate is renowned for producing wines of great intensity, depth, and elegance. This estate is among the most prestigious in the Cahors appellation thanks to its exceptional heritage of old, massal-selected vines and meticulous viticulture. Their winemaking approach includes cold pre-fermentation, gentle extraction, and fermentation in open concrete vats, followed by extended aging in barrels to soften the powerful tannins of the Malbec. The vineyard is certified biodynamic by Demeter.
