Although the Urville vineyards were originally planted by the Romans 2000 years ago, it was Saint Bernard, founder of the Abbey of Clairvaux, who had our cellars built in 1152.
Seven centuries later, in 1808, around this magnificently preserved testimony of the medieval era, where exceptional vintages slumber, the family estate was created and is now run by Michel Drappier. A region where Pinot Noir, a grape variety that "flows in our veins", thrives, Urville is the place where our vineyard was first planted and is now cultivated according to organic and natural principles.
Just like the "archives" that retrace the long history of our house, we continue to cultivate forgotten yet unforgettable grape varieties: Arbane, Petit Meslier and Blanc Vrai.
Today, rather than sophisticated, sometimes exaggerated excellence, we prefer authenticity and a natural approach.
Thanks in particular to very low dosages and an extremely limited use of sulphites, of which the cuvée Brut Nature Sans Soufre is the result, we are able to highlight the multiple facets of our terroirs and our winemaking.
