Who's Dominique Laurent?

Dominique Laurent is a famous winemaker and wine merchant from Burgundy in Nuits-Saint-Georges. A passionate person of great reputation in France. Formerly a pastry cook, in Vesoul, he is heading for a completely different field! Towards the end of the 80s, he began a new adventure, in the field of trading high-quality wines. In 2006, Dominique Laurent obtained his own estate of 6 hectares of vines. From now on, he was a winegrower, who used to only do maturing. His philosophy? To never stray from the primitive wine: "Wine is grapes! ". He noticed that the different viticultural techniques give wines that deviate too much from the initial taste. He therefore aims at natural ageing, limiting sulphur. He is very attached to the texture of the wine, the structure and its tactile sensation. From now on, wines made from purchased grapes are labelled Dominique Laurent, while Domaine Laurent Père et Fils wines are made from nine hectares of vines, including plots in Meursault Poruzots and Nuits-Saint-Georges.
