Chambolle Musigny 2022 - Vieilles Vignes - Dominique Laurent
2022 Vintage
The 2022 vintage in Burgundy proved to be exceptionally sunny and generous, while maintaining a remarkable sense of balance. Benefiting from mild summer weather and perfectly ripened grapes, this Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes (“Old Vines”) reveals a rich, luscious aromatic profile, blending juicy fruit with a beautifully rounded tannic structure. The wine is enveloping and charming even in its youth, yet it possesses the energy and freshness required to age gracefully and flourish over time in the cellar.
The Cuvée:
The Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes cuvée from the house of Dominique Laurent is a magnificent example of the finesse and sensuality associated with this great terroir in the Côte de Nuits. Sourced from old vines with deep roots in clay-limestone soils, this Pinot Noir bears the distinctive signature of Dominique Laurent—a winemaker renowned for his subtle use of oak, employing custom-made barrels (often crafted from Tronçais oak with a tailored level of toast). Produced with minimal filtration to preserve the integrity of the fruit, this wine combines the vitality of old vines with the silky mouthfeel characteristic of the appellation. It offers delicate aromas of red fruits—such as raspberry and Morello cherry—along with hints of violet and subtle, nuanced notes of spice and oak.
