Chablis Preuses Grand Cru 2022 - Louis Jadot
Serving temperature: 12-14°C
Terroir and origin
Louis Jadot's Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses comes from one of the seven Grand Cru vineyards on the right bank of the Serein River. This prestigious terroir rests on Kimmeridgian soils rich in calcareous marl and marine fossils, which impart the wine's characteristic minerality. The vines' ideal exposure allows for slow and even ripening of the Chardonnay grapes, resulting in wines of great finesse.
Winemaking and aging
At Louis Jadot, the grapes are gently pressed to preserve the fruit's full aromatic purity. Fermentation generally takes place in oak barrels, followed by aging on fine lees for several months. This method adds complexity, texture, and beautiful depth, while respecting the mineral expression and freshness characteristic of the great terroirs of Chablis.
Style and Tasting Notes
Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses captivates with its elegance and balance. The nose reveals aromas of white fruit, citrus, and flowers, accompanied by iodine and chalky notes. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and structured, with great precision and a long, saline finish. It is a remarkable wine for aging, perfectly complementing seafood, fine fish, or shellfish dishes.
