Monthélie Champs Fuillot 1er cru 2022 - Louis jadot
Great Bourgogne estate
Terroir and Origin
Monthélie Sous Roche – Louis Jadot comes from a vineyard located in the commune of Monthélie, south of the Côte de Beaune. The deep, well-drained clay-limestone soils promote even ripening of the Pinot Noir grapes. This terroir gives the wine the balance, finesse, and character typical of Monthélie red wines.
Winemaking and Aging
The grapes are harvested by hand and then carefully sorted to retain only the best berries. Fermentation takes place in tanks with gentle maceration to extract color, aromas, and structure. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for approximately 12 to 15 months, adding complexity, roundness, and balance.
Style and Tasting Notes
Monthélie Sous Roche is appealing with a nose of fresh and ripe red fruits, such as cherry and raspberry, with slightly spicy notes. On the palate, it is elegant, well-structured, and boasts fine tannins. The long and harmonious finish makes it an ideal wine to accompany red meats, poultry and stews.
