- When to drink this wine : 2017 - 2027
- Tasted by Jeb Dunnuck in 2015: "The 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape is a classic style blend of 70% Grenache, 17% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre and the rest other permitted varieties. Aged primarily in foudres, it offers ample Provençal garrigue, pepper, tobacco leaf and assorted black fruits to accompany a powerful, nicely concentrated and balanced mouthfeel. As with the Chante le Merle cuvée, it has plenty of tannin, so give it a year or two in the cellar."
- Production: 30,000 to 50,000 per year.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soil with pebbles. Mixture of all types of soil in the appellation (pebbles, clay, sand).
- Old vines aged between 45 and 50 years.
