Côte Rôtie 2019 Coteaux de Tupin - Maison Stephan
Domaine Stephan from the estate
- Tasting note: Dark and fleshy to the touch, with lots of plum, blackberry and black cherry notes supported by hints of tobacco leaf, black olive and dried bay leaf. The long, silky finish allows everything to meld together beautifully. There's a lot of character here.
- Cellaring potential: Wait at least 3 years before drinking (2024) and will cellar for a decade or more.
- Grape variety: 100% Serine (native Syrah grape variety)
- Soil : Leucogneiss, Quartz vein
- Plantation : 1941-1997
- Ageing : 24 months in old oak barrels from the Jupille forest
- Food & wine pairing : Small feathered game (quail, woodcock, ...)
