Character and style of Lynch Bages: The Lynch Bages wine style combines power, concentration, style and charm. In the middle between traditional and modern styles, the wine is best when concentrated, offering flavors of ripe black currant, tobacco, wet earth and truffle with firm tannins.
More about the vineyard: Lynch Bages' large 100-hectare vineyard is planted with 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. The vineyard has a terroir composed of gravel, chalk and sand soils.
The vineyard can be divided into 2 main sections, with most of the vines planted near the château on the Bages plateau. At its peak, the vineyard reaches an altitude of 20 meters. The other part of the vineyard is further north, with its key terroir located on the Monferan plateau. There are also vines located near the village of Pauillac, near the Gironde.
