This is one of the greatest expressions of Burgundy Chardonnay: the legendary Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru, produced by the talented Domaine Blain-Gagnard. This 2023 vintage promises to be exceptional, marked by a bright and precise vintage.
On the nose, the wine reveals great complexity: white flowers, ripe citrus fruits, toasted hazelnuts, and a hint of flint. On the palate, the magic happens immediately: the attack is full-bodied and enveloping, carried by superb mineral tension. The perfectly controlled oak aging brings a noble, silky touch without ever overpowering the fruit.
This Grand Cru seduces with its rare balance between richness and integrity. The interminable finish leaves a salty sensation that calls for another glass. A wine with great aging potential (15 to 20 years without difficulty), capable of evolving towards notes of white truffle and honey.
