Saint-Peray Fleur de Roc 2018 - Cave de Tain
Geographical location: Northern Côtes du Rhône, right bank of the Rhône
Grape variety: Marsanne (94%), Roussanne (6%)
Terroir: Granitic bedrock covered with silt, loess and limestone debris
Climate: Continental with a Mediterranean influence. Microclimate favouring a harvest of quality white grapes
Vinification: Selection of old vines planted on the most beautiful terraces of the appellation. Manual harvest in pallox the day before pressing and cold storage for 24 hours. Gentle pressing of the grapes as soon as they arrive in the cellar. Protection against oxidation as soon as the first juices run off. Cold settling for 24 hours. Start of alcoholic fermentation in vats at 18-20°C before being placed in barrels during fermentation.
Aging: In new 400L barrels (25%) and from 1 to 7 wines
Tasting notes: Colour: Bright golden yellow. Aromas of ripe yellow fruit and white flowers, citrus and fresh hazelnut. In the mouth: beautiful level of maturity of the 2018 vintage: aromas of ripe fruit but the minerality and salinity,
typical of the appellation, dominate the finish. The finish is long and elegant with notes of gunflint, apricot and vanilla.
Serving temperature: 11 - 12°C
