This deep ruby and garnet-colored 1990 reveals considerable amber around the rim, as well as a bouquet of cedar, kirsch, licorice, roasted herbs and spice box. This exuberant, atypically flamboyant wine has a supple texture, a palate with sweet fruit, plenty of glycerin and attractive melted tannins. This wine has been delicious from birth, but additional nuances continue to develop in bottle.
