Châteauneuf-du-Pape
93/100 James Suckling
Tasted in April 2023 by J.S.: "A very pure, agile Châteauneuf-du-Pape with notes of red berries, wild strawberries, stones and peppercorns. Quite full-bodied, with fine tannins and lively acidity. Crisp and transparent on the palate, with supple harmony. Lots of fruit and tension with a succulent finish. 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah. Made from organically grown grapes. "
When to drink this wine ?
This wine is generally considered to be at its best after a few years of bottle age, allowing the flavors to develop and the tannins to soften further. However, it can also be enjoyed in its youth, although it may be wise to decant it to reveal its full aromatic potential.
