Côte-Rôtie 2018 Mon Village - Stéphane Ogier
Since I last visited the estate a few years ago, I am pleased to say that the whites of Rostaing have become clearer and more precise. The Condrieu la Bonnette is medium-bodied, offering seductive floral, apricot and spice aromas. It is not too rich, fresh, with a clean, refreshing, peppery/gingivy finish. Cellaring potential: 10 to 20 years depending on the vintage.

Joe Czerwinski in 2019: "Tasted from a blend of six lieux-dits in vats, Cote Rotie Village 2018 has attractive aromas of peppery herbs, raspberries and cherries. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it is already fluffy and easy to drink, with notions of silk and olive on the finish. Best of all, it's fun to drink.
Ogier owns many plots of land on the entire slope of the Côte Rôtie. Tasting in barrels here is a challenge, but also a pleasure and an education. The oak seems to have faded in recent years, or perhaps the fruit is more assertive. "You could say that God has been with us for four years," said Ogier.
