Cordon Bleu Brut - Champagne de Venoge
Champagne Brut
91/100 Parker
Cellaring : Can be drunk now and can be kept for 5 years.
Tasting by Stephan Reinhardt : "NV Cordon Bleu Brut is a classic De Venoge blend of 50% pinot noir, 25% chardonnay and 25% pinot meunier from about 20 different villages. Intense aromas of brioche and delicate chalk perfume the fine and elegant bouquet. On the palate, this is a round, fresh and well-balanced champagne with a tight structure and impressive length. There's even a certain salinity that makes this Brut a first-rate aperitif at a very good price."
The Cordon Bleu champagnes, dominated by Pinot Noir, express the roundness and a certain vinosity typical of this grape variety.
Tasting notes: Attractive, slightly golden colour, beautiful aromatic complexity combining notes of green apple, lemon and honey. Balanced and round, complex and subtle. Very good ageing potential. An exceptionally versatile Champagne.
