Aloxe Corton 1er cru Les Vercots 2017 - François Mikulski
-
This Aloxe-Corton is located next to the Cortons. We buy it in must from a very good winegrower who cultivates his vines and makes his wine with care and then matures it.
-
The vines are 70 and 30 years old. The yield is low, about 40 hours per hectare.
-
The grape variety is 100% Pinot Noir.
-
The vines are cultivated in uncertified organic farming.
-
The soil is very clayey of 70/80 cms laid on very large rocks.
-
The cuvée is vinified in vats for about 15-17 days, then put into oak barrels where it remains for a minimum of 14 months. We use about 20% new oak barrels.
-
This wine is sensual but with a fairly clean blood note, aromas of raw meat, new leather, nutmeg, a plum-cherry and raspberry trio, tulip and peony. Here also a fine sweetness between white sugar and icing sugar, raspberry jam, strawberry jam and even a balsamic note. Even if the wine is quite charming, the tannins will have to be placed on a red meat to release all the fruit.
