Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy 2017 - Laurent Tribu
94-95/100 James Suckling
Same exposition as Côte de Lechet and similar stony soils, but layers of white clay add richness. There’s acacia and little white flowers with white peaches and pastry-like elements. There’s impressive length here with a fine array of long, minerals, lime and grapefruit citrus. Gently fleshy.
This white Burgundy wine is made from the Chardonnay grape variety and is distinguished by its mineral purity, typical of Chablis. The Beauroy terroir, with its marl and limestone soils, gives the wine beautiful tension and a delicate aromatic expression.
Laurent Tribut, faithful to Chablis traditions, vinifies his wines with great respect for the terroir. Aging is done in oak barrels, but not excessively, to preserve the wine's identity and allow it to evolve with finesse.
On the palate, notes of white fruit, vibrant freshness, and remarkable length are evident. It pairs wonderfully with seafood, grilled fish, or mature goat cheese.
