Domaine Groffier Père et Fils is located in Morey-Saint-Denis, in Burgundy, and mainly owns vineyards in Chambolle-Musigny with a superb plot of Chambolle "Les Amoureuses". This estate is often mistakenly located in Chambolle-Musigny, since its parcels are mostly located there as well. It dates back to the 19th century. It was founded by a certain Frédéric Groffier, father of Jules Groffier (1898-1974), himself father of Robert. Jules combined the vines and Robert Groffier started bottling on the property. The reins are now held by Robert's son, Serge, and his grandson Nicolas. Domaine Groffier Père et Fils do not bother with predefined rules in vinification, keeping stalks according to the vintage: it worked with whole stalks until 1984, before switching to complete destemming in the 1990s.
