Great wine of Burgundy
(89 - 92)/100 Parker
When to drink it : Can be drunk now. It is a great Burgundy wine at maturity.
Tasting notes: "Displaying aromas of orange peel, toast and flowers, the Chassagne-Montrachet Les Champs Gains is a fairly powerful, expansive, but very concentrated and racy wine. Stones, sautéed mushrooms, lemon drops, and citrus zest mingle with deep minerality in this lively-textured gem. Jean-Noël Gagnard's brilliant 1996s will require patience, as they have a bracing acidity. These are rich, ripe, extremely well-made wines that, with time, will offer remarkable complexity, minerality and, most importantly, pleasure."
