What are the specificities of Château L'Enclos?
The history of Château L'Enclos dates back to the 19th century. At the time, the estate was known as Au Grand Moulinet, (Moulinet being the name of the neighbouring village) before becoming L'Enclos Pomerol.
Formerly owned by the Larroucaud family since 1898, in 2006 the estate was acquired by Americans Stephen Adams and Denise Adams. The Adams family also owns the Château Fonplegade in Saint-Emilion, as well as other Bordeaux properties and a vineyard in the Napa Valley.
The Malbec vines having been removed in 2018, the vineyard offers a wine tasting of 2 varieties
Under the precious advice of Michel Rolland, organic farming is practiced in the vineyard.
After vinification in stainless steel vats, the wines are aged in 30% new French oak barrels for nearly 18 months.
Since the 19th century, the wine of the Château has built up a very fine reputation in the Pomerol appellation.
The vines also give birth to a Second Wine, "Le Petit Enclos".
