Château la Gaffelière 2010
Saint-Emilion - First Grand Cru Rated B
Tasting of La Gaffelière 2010 by Robert Parker
"The 2010 final blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc offers impressive levels of red, blue, and black fruits, as well as toasty oak and crushed stone, giving it its minerality. Of course, the acidity of this vintage, with its lower pH than the 2009, brings a freshness and precision that is rare for such rich wines. This wine has plenty of tannin, so give it 4-6 years of cellaring and drink it over the next 3 decades. This is a great wine from the estate of Count Leo de Malet Roquefort, which has been in his family since the 1400's. Normally this estate tends to produce a relatively fine St.-Emilion. The 2010 still goes in that direction, but it has more fat, muscle and tendon than most vintages"
