Château La Pointe 1974
Pomerol
Tasting notes :
Château La Pointe generally offers a complex aromatic bouquet with notes of ripe fruit, blackcurrant, black cherry, plum and sweet spices such as vanilla and cinnamon. There are also hints of tobacco, leather and undergrowth, which add depth and complexity to the wine. On the palate, it is often full-bodied and velvety, with supple, well-integrated tannins and a long finish.
Wine and food pairing :
- Château La Pointe goes very well with a variety of dishes and ingredients.Because of its fruity character and balanced tannic structure, it goes particularly well with red meats such as beef, lamb and duck. Dishes cooked with rich sauces, mushrooms, truffles or Provençal herbs also complement this wine well. You can enjoy it with simmered dishes, roasts, grilled meats and even more daring dishes like duck breast with orange.
- For cheese lovers, it goes perfectly with soft cheeses such as Camembert or Brie, as well as certain hard cheeses such as Comté. It also goes well with Mediterranean dishes, tomato-based dishes, risottos or dishes with umami flavours.
Serving temperature :
The ideal serving temperature is between 16°C and 18°C. This will bring out the wine's aromas and structure, while preventing it from becoming too warm and the flavours from fading. If necessary, the bottle can be slightly chilled for about 15 minutes before serving. Don't hesitate to open the bottle at least 2 hours in advance.
