  • When to drink this wine? : 2021 - 2045
  • Tasted by Lisa Perrotti-Brown in 2018: "Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2016 Lagrange comes out of the glass with notes of candied violets, cassis, underbrush and warm black plums with waves of Forest cake -Black, cedar chest and yeast extract.A fairly full-bodied style with fragrant dark fruit notes and super-ripe, grainy tannins, long, structured finish."

Château Lagrange is a red wine produced in the Bordeaux region of France. It is classified as a third growth in the official classification of Bordeaux wines of 1855. Here is some information and advice for serving and tasting it:

  • Wine characteristics: Château Lagrange is mainly composed of classic Bordeaux grape varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. It is renowned for its richness, complexity and ability to age well. Lagrange wines often offer aromas of dark fruits, spices, cedar and tobacco, with firm tannins and good structure.
  • Temperature: It is recommended to serve Château Lagrange at a slightly cool temperature, around 16-18 degrees Celsius. This will enhance its aromas and structure.
  • Service: Since Château Lagrange is often a full-bodied and tannic wine, it can benefit from decanting before serving. By transferring it to a carafe a few hours before tasting, you will allow the wine to aerate, which will soften its tannins and intensify its aromas.
  • Food pairings: Château Lagrange goes well with dishes rich in flavors, such as red meats, game and aged cheeses. You can also accompany it with dishes based on mushrooms or grilled vegetables to highlight its earthy aromas.
